One of the saddest stories, ever. I know people say it COUNTLESS times, but do tell the people you care about that you love them. Remind them in all ways possible and be incessant to the point of being irritating. You’ll never know what is going to happen in the next moment - No Regrets.
Happy Valentine’s Day my friends.

Happy Valentine’s Day my friends.

You can’t brace yourself for a sudden impact. It just hits you, and then suddenly, the life you knew before - is over, forever.
Meredith Grey

There’s a reason I said I’d be happy alone - it wasn’t cos I thought I’d be happy alone. It was because I thought if I loved someone and then it fell apart, I might not make it. It’s easier to be alone, because what if you learn that you need love - and then you don’t have it? What if you like it and lean on it? What if you shape your life around it and then……it falls apart? Can you even survive that kind of pain? Losing Love is like organ damage, it’s like dying .

The only difference is - Death Ends.

This?

It could go on forever.

Meredith (Grey’s Anatomy) - Season 7 Episode 22
Good thing life doesn’t come with a scalpel because if we did - when things started to hurt we would just cut, cut and cut. The thing is, what we take away with a scalpel, we can never get back. So…like I said - good thing.

Lightning doesn’t often strike twice. It’s a once-in-a-life time thing. Even if it feels like the shock is coming over and over again… Eventually, the pain will go away, the shock will wear off… And you start to heal yourself - to recover from something you never saw coming. But sometimes the odds are in your favour: If you’re in just the right place, at just the right time - you can take a hell of a hit, and still have a shot at surviving.
Meredith Grey - Season 6 Episode 2

When we say things like “people don’t change”, it drives scientists crazy - because change is literally the only constant in all of Science. Energy, Matter - its always changing: Morphing, Merging, Growing, Dying.

It’s the way people try not to change that is unnatural.

The way we cling to what things were instead of letting them be what they are. The way we cling to old memories instead of forming new ones. The way we insist on believing, despite every scientific indication, that anything in this lifetime is permanent.

Change is constant. How we experience Change, that’s up to us.

It can feel like Death, or it can feel like a second chance at Life. If we open our fingers, loosen our grip, go with it - it can feel like pure adrenaline, like at any moment, we can have another chance at Life.

Like at any moment, we can be born all over again.

The Way it Ends - Landon Pigg

Awesome song. <3 Grey’s Anatomy used it for the season finale.

“Run..

Is this to be our fate?

Hide…

Freedom is ours as long as we escape.

We walk in the shadows…

We do…

For now but we all know,

our time is near.

This is the way it is…

Don’t tell me its meaningless,

there’ll be no compromise

we fall and we too shall rise,

you held me and taught me how,

I think I am ready now..

If this is the way it ends,

Then this is the way its meant to be…”

No matter how thick skinned we try to be, there’s millions of electrified nerve endings in there - opened and exposed, and feeling way too much. Try as we might to keep from feeling pain, sometimes its just unavoidable. Sometimes its the only thing left - just dealing.
Grey’s Anatomy
Peace isn’t a permanent state, it exists in moments - fleeting - gone before we even knew it was there. We can experience it at any time, in the strangest act of kindness, a task that requires complete focus, or simply the comfort of an old routine. Everyday we all experience these moments of peace - the trick is to know when they’re happening so we can embrace them, live in them - and finally, let them go.
Derek - Grey’s Anatomy (A Peace of Mind)
today if you become frightened, instead become inspired.
Isaac - Grey’s Anatomy
(Lexie) Grief may be a thing we all have in common, but it looks different on everyone. (Mark) It isn’t just death we have to grief - its life, its loss, its change. (Alex) And when we wonder why it has to suck so much sometimes, has to hurt so bad, the thing we have to remember that it can turn on a dime. (Izzy) That’s how you stay alive. When it hurts so much and you can’t breathe - that’s how you survive. (Derek) I remember that one day, somehow, impossibly, you won’t feel this way. It won’t hurt this much. (Miranda) Grief comes in its own time for everyone, in its own way. (Owen) So the best we can do…best anyone can do, is try for honesty. (Meredith) The really crappy thing, the very worst part of grief is that you can’t control it. (Arizona) The best we can do is to let ourselves feel it when it comes. (Callie) and let it go when we can. (Meredith) The very worst part is that the moment you think that you’re past it, it starts all over again. (Christina) And always, every time - it takes your breath away.
Grey’s Anatomy (everyone).
