sigma brush review and giveaway
sigma beauty sent me this amazing brush set to review and try out. plus, they’ve given me the opportunity to give one away to one of my lucky followers. the kit i’m going to be reviewing is a premium professional kit worth 149$. the kit itself contains 15 brushes, each doing amazing, wonderful things. the giveaway rules and terms and conditions are outlined at the bottom of this post.
- large powder f30: fluffy and rounded tip. suitable application of powder products on face or body. loved the softness of the bristles, i can honestly say that i’ve never felt a brush with such soft bristles before. used this to apply my daily powder foundation routine. gave a perfect finished look.
- tapered face f25: large domed brush with tapered tip. ideal for application and blending of powder products, blush, and highlighter. i found myself using this on my cheeks with one of my favourite highlighting powder. the domed tip was great for the precise application of any sort of product.
- duo fibre powder/blush f15: medium sized tapered duo fibre brush. widely disperses highly pigmented or mineralized powders. generates a natural look during blush and highlighter application. my favourite brush out of the bunch. to me, it’s a do it all brush. it’s great for applying a powder foundation, blush (cream or powder) or any sort of bronzing product. gives you that flawless airbrush look.
- powder/blush f10: medium round brush with soft and natural bristles. ideal for precise application. another great brush for powder applications. with these, i find the product sticks really well to the brushes themselves and you don’t get a lot of waste. super precise too.
- tapered highlighter f35: tapered cheek highlighter. delicately rolls powder under eyes. the precise tip in this brush enhances cheek highlighting and contouring. found this perfect for doing as it says, rolling my powder under my eyes. can be used after you’ve concealed to cover with powder. i’ve taken a liking to using it on my brows to highlight them.
- large fluff e50: versatile fluff brush. ideal for applying and blending powder products on the eyes and face. can be used for applying single shades all over the lid, highlighting cheek bones, and for contouring. super fluffy and wonderful. a great all over shadow brush as it picks up powder with ease.
- large concealer f65: can be used to apply cream-based products to large areas. also ideal for the application of liquid or cream blushes. i love this brush for the purpose of applying my illuminators. the bristles are very flexible and allow for you to manipulate the product whichever way you please. i also found myself using this to apply primer.
- concealer f75: slightly pointed tip allows for precision application of cream products in defined and small areas. this is a great concealer brush simply because the bristles aren’t rock solid. when comparing this to my other brushes used for concealing, i’ve found the bristles refuse to move. makes applying creams super easy and ensures application is even and the coverage is perfect.
- tapered blending e35: fluffy, long bristle brush with tapered tip. ideal for applying makeup to the the crease area and blending colours. the long bristles are great for blending as they allow for you to once again, manipulate the colour you are working with the way you want. i’m always weary about using brushes that have light bristles simply because i don’t want to make them dirty!
- small tapered blending e45: small domed brush with highly tapered tip. versatile. this brush can be used to apply colours in the crease area and to soften hard edges. when they say versatile, they mean it. i’ve never seen a brush with such a high peak and i love it. it is the perfect brush for applying products in the crease because it is so precise. it’s great for applying product on the outer, and in particular inner edges of your eye. the small bristles make this super precise.
- blending e25: oval shaped brush with gently chiselled sides. blends and softens the look of powder or cream shadows. ideal for primer application, base shadow application and to blend harsh lines. i find myself using this one to apply a shadow primer before i get started. i’ve also used it numerous times to blend in the colours along my crease and lid area. great when used either flat or on it’s side.
- short shader e20: flat, short, and slightly rounded dense brush. perfect for applying colours on the lid or smudging along the lash line. i wouldn’t use this as an all over brush simply because it’s a bit too short. i did find it great for smudging and applying shadows as liners.
- small eye liner e10: delivers a precise line across the lash line. perfect for creating artistic designs. love this eye liner brush because it’s so thin and precise. it’s the go to brush for those who love to wing their eye liner because it will help you get the perfect swoop without getting all messy. comes with a perfect brush cover.
- flat definer e15: small, firm and flat. this can be used to line the eyes for instant definition. can be used with powder, liquid or cream products. i’ve been using this to colour my brows in because i love the precise lines it creates. it’s also a great liner brush if you’re looking for a thicker line.
- lip l05: compact brush protected by a metal cap. can be used for the applications of all lip products. i love the fact that this has a metal cap because you can easily toss this in your purse for when you are on the go. i also love the shape of it. gives flawless application everytime.
